A dream wedding on Lake Como, three changes of clothing, fireworks and dancing until dawn: the pop wedding of Elettra Lamborghini and Afrojack was truly the event of the year in our world.
The general public – and perhaps we, too, prior to the 26th of September – all know Elettra Lamborghini, daughter of Tonino and heir to a noteworthy name, as a pop icon especially beloved by younger generations, the reality-TV star and “Twerking Queen” who displayed her talents on the stage of the Sanremo Music Festival! As photographers to her dream wedding, however, we had the opportunity and the great pleasure of getting to know her for what she really is: a 26-year-old woman who is down-to-earth, extraordinarily beautiful, witty, funny and most of all deeply in love with her Nick—the real name of the famous Dutch DJ and music producer.
For their VIP wedding, celebrated on their second anniversary as a couple, the two chose one of the most stunning venues in Italy, Villa Balbiano on Lake Como. Making an already exclusive location even more gorgeous, the floral decorations by Vincenzo Dascanio radiated a sense of wonder and transformed the villa into a genuinely enchanted garden.
The love and emtion shared within this young couple were tangible and unmistakable: so many knowing glances and smiles exchanged before the ultimate “I do.” As they approached the altar, the inevitable stress of the preceding months suddenly dissolved, and the couple stood there—just the two of them—at the centre of the world.
The marraige of Elettra and Afrojack—relying on the gifted Enzo Miccio as wedding planner—was a whirl of plot twists, starting with the bride’s three changes of dress, all three designed by Celebrity. For the ceremony itself, classic elegance yet with a touch of distinctive personality evident in the transparent lacework; softer lace with looser sleeves for the aperitif; and finally, for the party, an outfit with a fantastically sexy slit. Three sumptuous dresses, each in a different style, as though to express Elettra’s eclectic, multi-coloured nature.
Cutting the magnificent cake by Rinaldini, with fireworks lighting up the Lake, and then... party! Music and dance were a must, and indeed they thrummed on throughout the night, culminating in one of the most exciting moments when Elettra sang a duet with Giusi Ferreri, the hit song “La Isla” and “Titanium,” dedicated by David Guetta to the bride and groom! And, last but not least: without Giorgia Farina nothing would have been possible!
