What better time than this rainy winter to relive a magical wedding in Santorini, Greece! In July, we left for the fantastic and famous Greek island which is unique for its beauty and timeless charm, for the enchanting wedding of Edyta and Nazih.
Whoever chooses Santorini expects to find postcard views, the blue of the sea that brings out the white plaster of typical houses: it is all true and is exactly magical as you expect. Working as a luxury wedding photographer on this spectacular day was another of the striking moments in my career: a sparkling and dazzling white that perfectly framed this couple's day.
Nazih and Edyta are are based in Dubai with their families living in all different cities far and wide, from Sydney to Lebanon and many more in between. So, they chose Santorini as it was the most beautiful location for their families and friends to gather and celebrate their intimate Greek orthodox marriage.
Edyta adores watching the sunset over the sea: that’s why she will always remember the magical golden glow of the Santorini sunset on her wedding day.
The small church is called Anastasis Church in Imerovigli village: a turquoise dome surrounded by sparkling white, exactly like the jacket chosen by Nazih to differentiate itself from the extremely rigid total white dress code that had been asked to all the guests! Edyta had chosen white dress code in the spirit to have some fun and because it is a tradition in the Mediterranean island weddings: it looked beautiful against the white Cycladic architecture of Santorini.
During their entrance to reception, they had a zaffe played by the band Kisiris, which is a tradition in Lebanese weddings. And then again music and magic, thanks to all the details optimally organized by the staff of Julia & Evita. The wonderful location chosen by the spouses - the Rocabella hotel - has given it a spectacular touch...
As for me... this bride has touched my darker side: maybe I needed all this white to understand that only by taking some risks can you get the right reward!
