The greatest risk that every wedding photographer runs is to lose the right moment, to lose that shot that will never come back and that, for this reason, you can not miss. It's always true, but in a social marriage like the one of The Ferragnez - immortalized by thousands of posts re-launched all over the world - this risk is taken to the nth degree.
Saturday, September the 1st, Noto, Sicily. The ceremony is almost over, Chiara Ferragni and Fedez are kissing, behind them fireworks exploding: time collapses and one minute seems to become an hour. I am there with them, just a few minutes before their promises made me emotional; while I was looking at them I continued wondering if I already have the perfect picture, I could not think of anything other than to get that picture. Not to lose that moment.
The kiss ends, Chiara and Federico begin to walk towards the exit, among their friends; they are smiling, they are excited, they are approaching to me, I continue looking at them and looking for that picture. In a moment everything ends. I pass the record card with the shots to Paola that is behind me, inside the estate of the Dimora delle Balze. In the meantime I keep working.
Ten minutes later the photo of that kiss is on Chiara and Fedez's cell phones and, in a moment, on the Net: Chiara chose it, publishing it on her Instagram profile, and from there it was re-launched by thousands of posts. It was the most social photo of the whole event; it had more comments, views and repost than any other photo of that day.
It has become a symbol, an iconic image. It was hard. But it was worth it.
